Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site so we can improve it, and Google Ads to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries. Google's advertising cookies are only set if you accept marketing cookies.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells visits from different browsers apart, so we can count visitors. | 2 years |
_ga_MRQB41K8RC | Keeps track of your current visit (session) for Google Analytics. | 2 years |
Marketing cookies (Google Ads), only after you accept
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Lets Google Ads measure whether an advert click leads to an enquiry on our site. | 90 days |
Other Google advertising cookies (for example _gcl_aw, and IDE on doubleclick.net) | Set by Google to measure and, depending on your Google ad settings, personalise adverts. | _gcl_aw 90 days; IDE 13 months in the UK |
Until you accept, we tell Google not to store advertising cookies or use your data for advertising. Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (such as that a page was viewed) without identifiers, which it uses to model results. Google explains its cookies at business.safety.google/adscookies.
Things stored only in your browser
We also keep a few small items in your browser's local storage, which are never sent to us: your cookie choices on this page, whether you have already seen our cookie notice, and the help chat's state (it may also keep questions it could not answer, on your device only).
Your choices
Analytics: analytics cookies are on unless you opt out. Opt out of analytics Turn analytics back on
Marketing: marketing cookies are off unless you accept them. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Your choices are saved in this browser only, so you will need to make them again on another device or if you clear your browser data.
